Leeds Ball
Interrail 2018
After finishing university and on our third month of relationship, we packed our bags to live an interrail adventure across Europe.

Bier und Fahrräder
The trip began just after Kirsty Amstrong completed an epic bike ride from Leeds to Berlin. We started with our first museum marathon and long days of city wandering.

Krásná jako ona
In Prague, despite Mateo falling sick from a 1kg meal of ribs we managed to hit all the spots thanks to the Czech protein shake: beer.

Schöner Kuchen
A short stop in Vienna was enough to visit its ludicrous palaces (they started looking the same at this point) and indulge in the Sachertorte.

A Duna gyöngye
Budapest welcomed us with the best weather and the worst taxi scams to meet our fav spot in the trip: The Fisherman's Bastion.

Como en Casa
The last stop was at home, where Kirsty finally met Mateo's family and the gem hidden in that remote corner of Spain that you will soon visit too.

Our Graduations

Kirsty
University of Leeds
We were incredibly happy to both graduate excited (and slightly nervous!) about what the future might hold. We celebrated properly in Leeds, surrounded by family and friends, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next.

Mateo
University of Leeds
Soon after, our adventures took us in different directions. Kirsty headed off to Mexico for two months, while Mateo set off on a Spanish round trip with friends. It was our first real time apart, and although we loved the sunshine and new experiences, we quickly realised we didn't love being on opposite sides of the world.

A Year Apart
Distance only made us closer
A summer apart, then a year living in different cities. Weekend visits became our lifeline—train rides, video calls, and counting down the days until we could be together again. And somewhere along the way, we adopted Pipas.

Barcelona
New beginnings
Barcelona felt like the start of our dreamed "post-graduate life in the sun" life. It began as we'd imagined: calçotadas, carnival, and endless afternoons discovering new foods and favourite spots surrounded by friends and sangria.

Navigating the Storm
The hardest chapters made us stronger
However, it was the peace before the storm. A lock-down of one and a half year. A six month period back living with our parents. And a six month separation because of stupid immigration laws based on hate and ignorance. But not only we survived, we were stronger than ever together. We made the best of what we had and fought for being together. Take that covid, take that Brexit.

Our life in Manchester
Manchester was the best fresh start to build our home. We built a rich meaningful life filled with fun weekend escapes, ordinary happiness and an incredible group of friends.
The crew that stuck
Our People
From neighbours to best friends, from coworkers to partners in crime, hell, even Mateo's brother moved into town. We had the best people around us.
48h adventures
Weekend Escapes
Weekend exploration, together or with friends just added that extra spark to our lives.
Our everyday magic
The Little Things
Tiny moments filled with happiness. Without any expectations. Just being and appreciating the moment.
Our Adventures
The trips that shaped us
We're happiest when we have a trip to look forward to, somewhere to explore. It took us a while but we found the balance between Mateo's intensity and Kirsty's need for chillaxing.
Canelolimpiadas
The secret plan four years in the making
What started as a friendly sports competition became the most elaborate proposal setup ever. Mateo went down the rabbit hole and made a 5 year plan that left everybody in shock.

The Proposal
Oeschinen Lake, Switzerland
A story written across borders and years, reaching its most beautiful chapter on a quiet lakeside in the Swiss Alps.
